Worst Mechanic in Australia: an E28

As you have seen in the title, I am the worst mechanic ever.
I bought this car back in September last year, and have only succeeded in breaking it more.

As is usually the problem with buying someone else's unfinished project, there was a bit of work to do to get it roadworthy after registration expired in November.

It reminds me of my build, and its motto of:


Keep your nose to the grind stone.

Pics for this update are on my iPad, rents took the dSLR away for the weekend... No respect.

Anyway, picked up bike frame today.

Pretty good score for $50 - would anyone be interested in seeing a fixie build? I don't think I've seen anything saying this is a four-wheel exclusive forum.

Inevitably, I got lost trying to find the place with the frame, and had some fun times offroad in the Renault. Thank God I haven't lowered it.

Anyway back to the E28.
Ratty interior:

Nice wheel, but the stitching has all come apart:

Leave vents open in rain = ingress into footwell

New rims, unfortunately not as cool as the TRX I bought, plastic centre caps and all, but these have tires and won't cost $2k to replace. Pretty good steal too $400 for 5 w/ tires

And my car seems to attract spiders. Evicted a couple of redbacks (like a black widow for you Americans, I guess?) maybe in December last year, this one's pretty harmless though:
