  • Just wanted to pop in and say that even though I no longer own this car, I decided to compile a bunch of photos from throughout this build and create an album on Flickr for people to see since most of the photos in this thread are broken. It doesn't have every single photo that I included in this thread, but there are plenty to scroll through and see how the car evolved. Click link below to view:

In case you haven't seen this '02 in it's current state, CAtuned just debuted it at SEMA in October after putting in some long hours on it. I think they really embodied the raw, sinister vibe that this car was destined to have, and I think it turned out awesome. Short article with some pictures here: http://thecharisculture.com/sema-2016-catuned-bmw-2002/

      • I had no idea that was the same car. The gauge cluster caught my eye, but I assumed it was made for multiple CAT cars. Glad I was able to see it in person and it looked great!

        • Thanks for putting the old pictures back up as some of them aren't just progress pics but actual great photos imo. I loved everything about this thread as it became a bit of a story after a while when you moved from the outdoors/carport and got your shop and you began making your insanely beautiful furniture.

I was (and still am) a bit sad to see the 02 go as I really liked where you where going with it, and even though the guys at CAtuned did a killer job turning it into the badass it is today I would have really liked to see how you would have finished it.

Definitely my favourite project thread anywhere to date, thanks for the hours of enjoyment of reading the thread back multiple times and eagerly waiting for the next update.

Can't wait to see what's coming next, be that cars or furniture.

Yeah that gauge cluster is crazy! I have yet to see the car in person, really looking forward to it.

Damn man, really appreciate that comment! It was comments like this that always kept me super motivated to keep pushing. I too am sad that I wasn't able to finish it myself, I still have the exact image in my head of what I wanted this 2002 to look like when it was all done. Maybe one day I'll be able to revisit my dream and make it happen.

I actually own an E30 now that I have been working on quite a bit (nothing nearly as involved as the 2002, for good reason) and have a build thread on that, which you can check out here: http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=80308

Thanks again for your awesome comment and for following along this thread. Take care!
