The long cold winter has finally passed so it's time to continue my e30 build.
First job on my list was to lay down some primer and paint the engine bay so I can put the engine where it belongs.
Spent endless hours sanding the body and engine bay for the primer. After that I spent even more time preparing engine bay for the color and clear coat.
Now I just need to find a pot of gold to paint the whole car
Finally found some time to play withe the body filler.
Driver side door and side panels were pretty messed up, so quite a few hours were spent in the process.
Unfortunately the weather has tuned and it is cold outside,
so it's bloody cold in the workshop too.
I will wet sand the body as soon as its worm outside.
So today I decided to test fit the front end before the final coat of primer.
The front fenders are made in Taiwan, so they don't fit.
Front valance that I got from local scrapyard was twisted out of shape and parts of it were missing.
I found another front valance which will be sandblasted tomorrow.
Right now the car looks TERRIBLE!
Can't wait to Slam it.
I'm in pursuit of the perfect paint job, so the cars is once again sprayed with primer.
It's been two weeks since the last coat of primer was applied. I think two weeks is enough for it to hang and settle before I start to Block Sand it.
After trying to fit e46 swing arms, I decided to follow Zic's advice to fit +97 ///M kingpins, swing arms and offset bushings. So I swapped these powder coated good looking ones
for a set of dirty and a bit rusty 1997 e36 M3 3.2 EVO kingpins and swing arms that I found on ebay.
Now the front wheels sit in the middle of the arch.
I was hopping to put the car on some lowered springs, so I found a set on ebay, but the package didn't arrive, so I spent weeks trying to get my money back witch I did thanks to ebay and PayPal customer support.
But I still wanted to see that car closer to the ground,
so I removed front shock's and rear springs °
NOT the best posture but it's getting there.
