video editing software - adobe premier?

I don't have a mac so I don't have the option of running the legendary final cut pro. I understand that adobe premier is pretty much the equivalent of final cut and is compatible with windows.

does any one have any experience with the software and how do you like it? also, how much should I expect to pay for it?

I use cs5.5 on a daily basis. At the moment photoshop and ps elements, but I did use premier in high school. I liked it better than final cut in some ways. I found it easier to use which was good for me at the time (advanced video and film)

alright thanks. im really getting into video production and i have 26 gigs of drift footage from this past weekend. i figured it's time to step up from windows movie maker lol

Yes. Give premier a shot and get familiar with it. Its worlds better than WMM. You will not be disappointed with adobe programs.

I have tried Sony Vegas 8 and Premier but I thought it was easier to use Premier. Give it a few hours and look through some tuts and you'll get started without any problems.

I'm also using Premier Pro. I did a quick look around at other software, and Premier seemed to get good reviews and good marks for usability. I'm also familiar with Adobe from Photoshop, Lightroom, and Illustrator so I figured I wouldn't be too lost in the interface. It wasn't too hard to jump into (I've only cut together three videos so far).
