  • The Mark VI - Getting started

I traded in the MINI in December for a new GTI. I'll track changes here.

    Some specs:
    • Color - Carbon Steel Gray Metallic
    • 6 speed manual
    • 18" Detroit Alloy Wheels
    • Interlagos cloth interior
    • Sunroof
    • Touch screen premium audio system w/ Bluetooth & aux input
    • Leather wrapped mfsw
    • Heated seats
    • Trip computer
    • Rubber & Carpeted mats

    Upcoming mods:
    • Coilovers (ordered)
    • Roll fenders
    • Spacers if needed
    • Debadge rear GTI logo
    • Rear wiper delete (kind of enjoying it now so I'm undecided on this)

    Wish list:
    • Wheels
    • Remap to 252hp

The car is so good as it is I don't think it needs much in terms of mods. I'm going to spend some time with her and get to know her before doing anything else.

Cell phone pics to get by until I can have some good ones made:

I like that style but I think I'm going to try something like Audi monoblocks. Not sure yet. It all really depends if I can save up enough $$. Its hard to do with 2 small kids.

              I LOVE LMs!

I was actually thinking something like this in 18" but it'll be some time before I can make any wheels happen. Unless someone wants to make a trade for web design work

'11. People are having a hard time getting really low in the MKVIs without going to bags. It seems like the ULs were the only way to go. Expensive but worth it.

nice! Just a heads up, you're going to have to wait a while for an ecu flash to be available. the 2011 ecu are different than the 2010, so they need to write all new code for it lol

Yeah, the '11s have a higher level of encryption.

they sure do. I had to turn away a handful of 11s so far because the ecu hack isnt out yet

People are so impatient too. A guy from APR finally said "Flashing cars is a business and we're definitely not trying to postpone making money "

I'll edit the above statement... People are having a hard time getting really low on coilovers in the MKVIs without additional modifications to the coils, strut mounts, etc. I don't have to worry about that with the ULs.

Looks like Revo wins the decoding race.
