Could not stand this wheel setup....

Part 4 by mgpdoc, on Flickr

So thought i would steal some wheels from another car that has the same pcd - hello my precious Golf hehe.

Part 4 by mgpdoc, on Flickr

    Boom

Part 4 by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Despite the fact that the tyre size is wrong - being 225.40.18 instead of 235 or 245.40.18, it still looked much nicer.

Part 4 by mgpdoc, on Flickr

I also stole the wheel stud kit from the other Audi

    Halfway there

So there it was, better looking

I also filled some A/C fluid after the other blue DTM had finished

Installed some correct-car-size tires, for the time the car will stay with 18s of this size. Nothing fancy, some Contis i had in the garage.

Some shots before the car settled

Part 4 by mgpdoc, on Flickr

          Better photos to come.

Then I decided I would change all of the lighting of the car, from yellow to white. From headlights, to license plate, to interior, dome, everywhere. More than you would guess that are needed, but we have to start somewhere.

Next on the list was installing the center console which was trimmed in alcantara in the past, and again, never installed after the RS4 body conversion.

First I had to remove the existing console . normally you take the armrest off first

              Part-5 by mgpdoc, on Flickr

              Part-5 by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Then you move towards the front, handbrake assembly parts

              Part-5 by mgpdoc, on Flickr

Then the rcd and climate controls

              Side by side

              Part-5 by mgpdoc, on Flickr

As you can see there are some differences and some changes need to be made, because it was made to fit less part due to weight reduction, like ashtray, and armrest etc.

Some more parts that arrived are some OEM, black interior roof parts, basically alla the parts that cannot be trimmed in fabric/alcantara and that i dont want to paint black because that is a half-assed job and i dont want that.

                          So i bought them all.

Wiring for the sunvisors - which i already had, but ok

Part 8 by mgpdoc, on Flickr

The only which I decided not to buy is the rear view mirror, mostly because I had one painted in my other A4 which had come out very good, and it is something we barely touch to begin with, and also, i had one spare to give it a go. More on that later.

The reason i decided to install the parts without the roof having been trimmed yet, is because the car is the safest place to store them , rather than the garage etc, they are fragile pieces with weird shapes.

So lets see how it went.

In order to remove this you also have to remove the seatbelt from the seat.
The hardest part is to then align the up and down regulator of the height of the seatbelt.

The passenger side headlight dipped beam oem HID lamps was flickering after some time, since i bought the car. I ordered new D1S lamps to replace the OEM ones. Sadly in order to gain access for a bulb removal, you have to take the headlight off. And in order to get the headlight off, you have to take the bumper off. Oh well.

Works great so far at an amazing cost. We shall see how long it lasts. Ofcourse i changed both lamps, to have the same date of use, and same colour.

Tired light switch , although working perfectly

Also, since there is another car in my garage, I need some things for it, so as to not take things from one car to another, or from one garage to another, when changing cars, especially when using them daily.

So, with that in mind. New C-Tek charger and C-Tek case for the A4

Also, found my favorite Continental tyre kit which looks great even after all these years

Finally, i needed a place to put all these things in the trunk, neat and tidy. So I went for the solution i have in the other cars, although this time i went for the OMP rather than the Sparco Helmet case which works great, looks nice and is non slippery

The maintenance went smoothly and everything that was changed was not necessarily needed to be changed but it gives me peace of mind knowing it is new.

Engine mounts were shot and one was leaking, typical of these when they go bad

So, had a day to spend some time working on the car(s) and thought I would remove the front RS4 OEM widebody parts frome the other blue car, to have then handy for some test fitting etc.

So i started working on that early in the morning.

                                Removed the bumper first

Part 8 by mgpdoc, on Flickr

And then the headlights to give me access to front fender bolts.

They were not very happy to see each other, I dont know why

That tape is there for 8 years now. It has protected the car, and left no glue residue after it was removed . Mad props to TESA for their quality.

However there are two lower fender bolts that in order to remove, you need to take the sideskirt off first. So that was the sideskirt off.

Part 8 by mgpdoc, on Flickr

It was not hard, because, first things were very clean to work with, car had not seen any road after the conversion, and also, many parts were missing due to weight reduction in that chassis.

                                Out came Fender number one
