  • I could only afford half an E30

    Hey ya'll!

I know Stance Works is tailored towards cars but I can't afford four 3-piece wheels or 6 cylinders so I figured I'd just snag two of both and try to make something from it!
Hopefully ya'll accept me. That's all I've ever wanted in life...

So last year I blew all of my tax return this 1983 BMW R80. Like any other responsible adult would do. I've been ridding it around for the past year and I'm finally ready to throw some money at it. So this is my attempt to build something cool while simultaneously joining the Hells Angels. Well maybe not the last part.

    P.S.
Don't tell my mom I bought a motorcycle. She'd be pissed.

Will this be some sort of "stancebike"?
    If so, I'm in!

Please just don't "caferacer kit" it out like everyone does nowadays

Just kidding. No kit for this bike. It'll be a one off.

First thing I had to do was get rid of that awful faux-carbon stripe.
Who ever put it on, painted around it so I had to sand down the lip between the tank and the black paint that was already there. Then I laid down black vinyl to temporarily make the bike seem as seamless as possible.

So I loaded my bike into a buddies trusty ole stead and brought it to my friend Jake's house. Jake is the owner and creator of The Flying Dutchman Co.
He is going to be the one to help me make/weld a new custom subframe to the bike for a different seat and new exhaust brackets.

As of right now I'm waititing for new tabs for the subframe to be cut so the seat can finally be installed.

To still move forward on the bike, I swapped out the chrome headlight bezel for a black one

                          DSC05603

And while that was going on, Jake helped me lower the front end by cutting two inches off the front!

                          DSC05597

and this is what it'll roughly look like once I get the seat installed
