It's not that it's a bad thing. I really respect you for doing it, I think you have a really nice car and something if I had I would be VERY proud of. Which I am sure you are. Being first is nice, but it's all about one upping. Go out and try to one up yourself. Do some more mods, Mtech kit or some AC Schnitzer parts. Find some rare E60 parts to make the car look better. Don't think ok I have wheels and drop I am done. Keep going and be the first for more stuff on the E60 chassis.

I know I am always willing to help a fellow BMW owner, I have an E34. Keep going!

yeah i can agree with that

perhaps i thought stancing an e60 would be a big deal in the stance scene but i guess i thought more highly of doing it than others

    dude wtf

its not like that, i spent tons of time, research and worked with tons of people to get the first stanced e60, everybody said it couldnt be done and no wheel company wanted to make wheels to the specs i wanted

its not about how much i spent, it was about the rarity of the parts and how they worked with the car

stancing an e60 is very hard and very expensive and thats one of the major reasons you dont see more of them done

one guy followed HRE's advice for offsets and widths and got screwed with a sunk look, a $5000 mistake

well shit i guess i shouldnt have gone the route of quality parts then, i dumped a lot of money into the car putting on parts that either few or nobody else had

i asked dobbins about that and he said it was up to you and thats what myself and my sponsors were waiting on

that e60 you posted Mike has terrible fitment on replica wheels, all he did was slam it on cheap coilovers and through on a mtech kit

but if thats what is apparently the right look then im all wrong

Elegant. I like it, It's like this though, it's not how much you spend on parts it's what parts you buy to make your car stand out and be remembered. That's why Mike's E28 is still world known. He did something not too many people did. Basically stock body but the parts he bought enhanced lines and created a vibe and made that pizazz. It's about finding creative ways to be ahead of the pack, not how much you spent on your wheels and suspension.

With that said, my favorite E60 (and yes, it looks more stock than yours... but there's something about it.)

    Just my $0.02

Dobbins told me he was going to post your car on SW (he has an account for posting). Logging on and finding the photos posted to the forums kind of negates that.

The stance on your car is nice, and the reason it would have gone up is because its not something we see every day. But with that said, it's not a car that stands ahead of the pack.

If your E60 were mine I'd have steered clear of the CF and I would have done polished wheels of some sort. Contrast. it's almost always a good thing.

Not trying to be a dick, but he's right. Other than your ride height and fitment, the car looks stock. Yes, you have legit CF parts, we know, but they look completely stock other than the fact that it is actually made of cf. The look completely stock, the hood doesn't have any vents or scoops.. the trunk doesn't have any time of spoiler on it. They don't stand out in any other way besides the material it's made out of.
And i don't know what feature cars you are looking at because i always see a car that is pushing the envelope in some way. These guys spend any amount of time and money doing what it takes to make their car sick, maybe you should do that too. You're car has serious potential and you need to recognize that and give it what it needs to be feature worthy, but honestly right now it looks like a black and blue e60.
just wheels and fitment=/= feature. creativity, time and devotion does.

That is a hott not stock and every day looking E60...I'm sorry, like I said not trying to say your car sucks or anything but it needs more. Your car is really not, just not amazing.

Such is life. People like driving nice cars. So in turn, said nice cars receive proper stance, whereas less appealing cars collect dust. I recently bought a Mazdaspeed Miata. Stanced Miata's are a dime a dozen.....but I could care less that i'm "following the crowd" because in the end i'll be happy with my car, and that's all that matters.

i have sent pm's and posted threads in many of the stance sites, but aside from that the gripe is that the same type cars with the same type stances are constantly getting exposure

Honestly, in this condition I would see your car at a show but not photograph it...there isn't anything to really make it stand out from the 55 year old mans 528i. Sorry, I don't want to sound like a dick but it's got no pop, no pizazz.
    wait wait wait

so youre saying that have a stanced e60 with nice DPE wheels sitting on JIC coilovers with Seibon CF parts and RPI exhaust has no pop? no pizaz?

mmmk well apparently ive got no business in this stance game, because everytime i see a featured car its a stock body with cheap ass rota wheels that are super wide and thats good enough but apparently my car isnt
