so i start playing gt6 yesterday, and i'm prompted that there is an update

(IMO) Yes, but not in a bad way. I grew tired of playing 5 after a while and 6 feels like a nice subtle update that has me excited to be playing again.

Is it an earth shattering update? Is it vastly better than the previous copy? No, but it's rather clear that this is just a temporary game to play while they work on one for the new system. I've still had an absolute blast racing around the past few nights after work. Well worth the money.

Plenty of people didnt like 5 for all of the above reasons, I still love it for the mere fact that it is relatively realistic, even if the damage and options arent.

In saying that my ps3 shat itself in feb and I havent bought another due to lack of funds/waiting for ps4.

i switched to xbox just for forza4 after getting tired of gt5. havent regeretted it one bit. not even worried about getting a new system for either game. forza4 still reigns supreme IMO

Always was a huge Gran Turismo fan back in the day, stopped playing at GT4 though as the physics weren't the greatest. Been playing Forza ever since.

This isn't good news though for racing game fans, I heard from many people that the new Forza wasn't very good at all. If the new GT is the same way I think I'll just stick with my 360 and Forza 4 for now.

THB, thats the best choice, i was thinking that "well GT6 cant be that bad they have had well over 10years? to develop this game since i last played GT-serie game back in GT4? on PS2.." long ago around the time Forza2 hit the shelf's.. still seems GT-series is behind by miles.

But what did i expect from Forza 5? more stuff for the 'serious' gamers but no? what they do? they just flip new menus and change the platform.. not smart.. not at all.. i hope enought ppl don't buy that game so they will realize what they have done ..

I'm still kinda glad i bought GT6 to try it out widen my perspective on these games once again. the grass aint so green this side of the fence either!

I got only broken Xbox360, so i bought used ps3 and GT6, got to say on so many aspects forza is better racing game. but what they did with the Forza5 i felt like i got to test GT series. Forza seems to lack updating, yes Froza5 looks better than 4, yes they have changed menus but the game behind those stays too much the same, i want to see something new something thats going forward. (more tire choises, actually wearing tires off and fuel also) i could go day for these.

Any ways now after almost 50% completed of the GT6 in last 3 days? i'd say im bit dissapoint how this game is setup, the fact that you still cannot add decent aero parts? like on Forza the forza wings.

That said and done back to playing ;D

Yes. Incredibly disappointing for those of us who also play Forza.

I played it at a friend's house a few nights ago for all of an hour, and was sorely disappointed. Cars still sound like vacuums, the sound effects are still pretty "canned", and the missing damage aspect is a pretty big let down. The one thing I noted was the fact that you don't have to wait around for used cars to cycle through the "used car lot" like the last one- all of the cars are readily available. Not sure how I feel about that.

TL;DR: It's basically a re-hashed version of GT5 with slightly better graphics, wait for used copies to buy the game if you want it.

I have it. It's ok but gt4 is still way better. Also the wheel choice is pissing me off. I DON'T NEED 5 DIFFERENT SETS OF THE SAME STEEL WHEELS AND WIRE MESH. It's really frustrating they can't make it more like forza but for us PlayStation people.
