Out of curiosity, what do people who own these cars do for a living? I heard they originally modified them like this so they can be eye level with people on the street, why would the need to be eye level? I know most of the newer cars are leased because where I used to live there used to be a dealership that got a lot of lease returns and had a bunch of candy colored cars on chrome rims.

And to keep this relevant: such a waste of a skyline

Putting a big body car up on big shiny rims looks intimidating, simple as that. American cars on big rims is a pretty huge scene, there are lots of different types and styles really once you get into it. Just like the "stance" scene but more ridiculous and fun.
