you COULD, although not advisable, go maaco.

before people start an uproar, the only way you go maaco is doing ALL the prep yourself, removing trim, lights, clips, anything that isn't getting painted and taping off anything that can't be removed.
then delivering the car on a trailer.

wont be the best paintjob, but def not the worst

remember, prep is your make or break.

fyi,, im not a painter or body man, just work alongside them and have had a few cars sprayed.

Paint isn't cheap but its not 1k-2k. Even at $300 for a gallon your not using that much.

But yes paint work isn't cheap.

my boy got flabergastered when we he got quoted 4-5k to have a mtech kit installed on his e30 then a full color change with ppg....

remember, you're paying for a skill that takes many many years to master, on top of costs of paint and materials.

paint alone is 1-2k for full paint job.
you know how many man hours it takes to fully prep a car? A LOT lol
Basically everything this guy just said.

I went to school for paint and body. Paint itself isn't cheap.

If you can do some of the body work/rust work yourself you can save a bit of money. Get it as best as you can and have them finish it out.

A full color change is a bitch. To do the jams properly takes a bit of disassembling to do it right, especially under the hood and stuff.

Depends on where you go and how bad your paint is.

A regular shop will charge $3k+ for a good paintjob. If you want to do it on the cheap, you could always go to MAACO. Expect a pretty shitty job when you're done, though.

Well...the title says it all! I know that the request is stronger in CA, for example, so I guess the price is lower than here in Quebec, Canada... I was just wondering how big is the difference. I got a Acura Vigor with minor rust and the price for a body work/paint is between 5k and 8k...
Working...
