ccw's are mad expensive, id love some but maybe down the road, the old viper rims share the same bolt pattern as my truck, even those would look killer. thanks for the explanation on the stretching..so if i was originally gonna run something like,...275/40/17 if that was say a 26 point what ever inch tall tire,... i could find something thats narrower giving me the same overall height or close to the same "26 point what ever"? that makes it easier for me... so now i know that ill be able to achieve the same overall height of a tire but in a narrower package that can be stretched... so i can avoid the rubber band look.... hmmm ill look into this...
as for the spacers what are you guys using? how big are these spacers ranging from? and i assume they need to be hub centric, and longer studs?
thanks again for all the info!

The inner bands keep the overall height the same.
I understand what you're saying, but that's not how it works. You're picturing the sidewall of a tire to be perfectly straight, when in fact it's curved.
All the "stretching" does is straighten out that curve. And see how the rubber comes to a point inside of the metal band on the bead seat? That folds over, allowing the tire to maintain the flat contact area on the wheel, even when the tire sidewall is at a different angle than what it is designed for.

A tire has a certain diameter. No matter what u do to your sidewall, that diameter can't change.
Think about it. There's an amount of rubber needed for that diameter, strechting the sidewall, doesn't change that. It just changes the side wall.

i dont know if im missing something or if everyone else is, probably me,... but if you take a 4x 4 box and smash it down from the top... it will now be possible 6x2.....so from where it "beads" to the top surface that is no longer flat, but infact concave... it will be shorter.... how does it not change the height of the tire? all those "specific" values that make up a tire ratio are set in place for a spcific rim size... if you stretch the tire... the ratios and values WILL change....am i crazy? stretching a tire is stretching the beads out horizontaly to be from say 8 inches, to 10 inches...you are not stretching the tire or rubber compound...the verticle side wall becomes more diagonal and concave then verticle... thus the height will be shorter then it would on an 8 inch rim....

Yeah, just play around on tyre stretch. Some tire brands stretch more than others. Falken 512's stretch like they're a size smaller than you ordered, and toyo's stretch very nicely. It'll all in the brand of the tyre.

thanks, ill look into that, sick idea for people just like me haha, still want to make sure i get the exact tire, im afraid of running rubber bands or too low a profile. but thats a good start point
