they do the same shit in Australia too. usually it's just cheap chinese shit but they'll talk it up like it's some really expensive/exclusive brand which is why you've never heard of it.
Usually they'll say like it was a cancelled order or there was a mixup in the order and they had a spare or something.
I got a 'good enough' 5+1 speaker set from one of these guys for $50 one time (for the Aussie peeps: it was in Springvale too! hahahaha)

I've had friends do the same. It's the notion of "impulse" buying. We all have done it...
Now buying stuff out of the back of a white van in a random parking lot on the other hand...

Guest repliedYou bought stuff out of a van in a parking lot. You deserve it. It's not even a matter of luck.

antisocial? no. uninteligent decision? yes.
watch out for emails and calls asking for bank info/social security number too FYI. triyng not to be a huge negative douche cause this was clearly a bad choice, i hope you learned a very valuable lesson.

In all seriousness I guess you were unlucky, but how the hell did you not realize this is a scam? Some dude out of the back of a van claiming he has a few g's worth of stuff and only wants $500 for it is going to throw some red flags to me...

buying stolen stuff is a crime, sure . doesnt stop the fact that an ipad which goes for 600 bucks can cost you 100 bucks,to me thats a deal, DO i do it? no, but its hella common. idk why i did it, like most mistakes, ...dont know wtf happened to me,,,but this solidifies my idea of worrying about my 3-5 people and the rest can suck a D---.
