  • Stretched Tire Bead Leak

Hi. I have a set of 235/35/19 Nankang NS20 tires that are stretched over 19x10 Work VSXX wheels. I have had them on the car for a good month with no problems, but one of my valve stems was giving false valve stem readings so I had them all recently replaced. After getting them replaced, I came back to my car to find my right rear tire was flat.

I checked for leaks and there were absolutely none around the tire tread or the valve stem, but the bead was leaking in one spot. It was a small leak. We unmounted and remounted the tire and the leak occurred in the same spot. Ultimately, the tech aired it up to 60 psi and the bead finally stopped leaking, but I would not like to run my tire pressure that high. I later brought it back down to 45 psi, thinking maybe the bead just needed to set, but the air started leaking again.

All my other tires are holding air with no problem at 45 psi. I see no visual damage at all to my wheel and the tire was fine before so I am baffled. Is it a tire problem, wheel problem? I am just confused by the source.
