As some of you may know, I have an e30 with a somewhat built Ford 302 swapped in. I'm starting to look at my options for turbo kits/ piecing a kit together, so here's my main question; there are plenty of kits available(such as on3performance) and various others, which are pretty much bolt on. The issue, of course, is that I not only have a smaller bay to work with, but that's I'm carb'd and would like to stay that way. So I have a few options, and I'm looking for some people with experience to chime in.
1. Stay carb'd, buy on3performance basic kit and modify.
2. Stay carb'd, piece my own kit together.
3. Convert to FI, buy on3performance kit.
Ok, so with option 1, the only real work I can see is working out the tighter clearance's, and maybe rerouting some piping and having a custom intake done.
Option 2 requires the same custom intake, but this time I can start off with whatever size turbo I want, and work out my own piping.
Option 3 is my least favorite, for various reasons. Throwing all the FI stuff back on a doing wiring isn't the annoying part, it's money I will have to spend on new injectors, and a standalone computer.
Thanks for any help guys!
