This 280 is screaming for Air suspension…. $5700 ono
This Mercedes 280 SEL has been a great daily driver for the last 15 months here in sunny California. The SEL is the much sought after long wheelbase version of the SE. These were only available in the USA between 1972 and 1973. They were never actually sold outside of North America!
The car is in great overall condition. The Engine uses zero oil and shows no issues. These engines are renowned as being "bullet proof". The transmission is wonderful and does not show any signs of wear. There are a few drips from the transmission pan gasket but this is super simple to fix. The AC is not functional.
Mileage: 26000 on a 5 digit odometer….therefore who knows..
Interior Condition: The rear seat has 2 minor rips and the front seats are missing 2 chrome caps. The headliner has a bent retaining bow.
Since owning this wonderful car I have replace the following:
1. New Power steering pump and hoses. . .this is the expensive and common one!
2. New Fuel lines to the tank.
3. New passenger side window actuator.
4. New Battery
5. New trunk seal
6. New coil and ignition module.
The car could do with new shocks. . .but Bilsteins are super cheap @350 a set
This car is listed at $8200 for a condition 4 vehicle on Hagarty! This is a fantastic car at this price.
