  • FS: 1986 BMW E23 735i Euro Conversion SoCal - $3900

    Sold.

Very clean late-production E23 735i. The car is very close to perfect. As with many E23s, the HVAC system needs work. The blower motor, vacuum pump, and control panel buttons work, but that's it. The vacuum actuated vents do not open and close as they should, the heater valve is bypassed, and the A/C system has a leak somewhere. Luckily all the power windows and heated seats work perfectly! This car has been cared for very well, and always serviced by people who don't throw away or break wiring harness clips or trim pieces, as everything is present under the hood.

It is mechanically flawless, and I would trust it to drive anywhere.

    VIN: WBAFH8402H0979329

129,000 miles on the working odometer
Engine starts and runs perfectly warm or cold
Transmission shifts very smoothly warm or cold
Clean title & passed CA smog May 29th. Registered until May 2014
    No rust
    Front and rear Euro bumpers
Early chrome rearview mirrors (power adjustments all work)
Euro headlights with working city lights
All power windows and locks work
Heated front seats work very well
    Wipers, defroster, and horn work
    Fully functioning OBC
Rear sunshade works and is in great shape
All lights and backlights work, except the front fogs (couldn't find the right side fog wiring harness, so I left them disconnected.)
Wheels are in excellent condition with no curb rash anywhere.
Front tires are heavily worn on the outside due to a previous bad alignment. Someone replaced the control arms and tie rods and never aligned it afterwards. I have had it aligned since then and it now tracks straight.

Maintenance in the last month includes:

    Front brake pads and rotors
    Alignment
Spark plugs, distributor cap & rotor
    Air filter, intake boot
    Fuel filter
    Oil change
    New roundels

Aside from the HVAC needing work, it could also use some new weatherstripping around the windows, as parts of the rubber have chipped away over the years, and there is quite a bit of wind noise at freeway speeds.
