best thread sealant?

Loctite 567 liquid teflon.

Teflon tape can clog up valves if there are any strands in the lines. liquid teflon doesnt harden, and doesnt break away causing valves to block up/get stuck open/closed.

I was recommended Hercules Grrip Pipe Joint and Gasket Seal by a few of the High Pressure Gas techs where I work. They deal with it all the time.
When chasing down a few leaks myself, I was told that you can use up to 15 wraps with about 6 minimun of the cheap teflon tape (the thin stuff). If you use Stainless thread tape it takes fewer wraps.

My truck used to drop the rear passenger completely because of leaks in three of the bag lines, but since redoing everything with this stuff, I can leave it aired up while on vacation for a week and not lose any pressure. I'm really impressed.

I used Rectorseal Tru-Blue. It's a vibration proof liquid sealant. I've put about 2,000 miles on my air setup to date, and so far so good, no leaks.

im trying loctite 565 this time around, we do stock like 15 different thread sealants here at work tho, i never really had problems before with teflon tape tho

I used "leak lock". Its used at my work for sealing threads on a/c systems where the particles are smaller than air.

We use thread tape for all of our setups without any leak problems. If it leaks, do it again but if you hold the NPT side of the fitting closest to you, three clockwise wraps should do just fine.

Just a heads up. All NPT is tapered so don't over tighten the fittings because they could start to mess up threads in the tank or whatever the fitting is going into.

Not for NPT joints. If it leaks and it's NPT it likely isn't tight enough.

i have a sample size of the stuff that airlift sends with their struts. have you used it? does it give that airtight seal?
