Why the name calling lt dangle?,(your not even very good at it)
he asked for help with diy polishing his anodised wheels - after years of polishing wheels every day i believe that anodised wheels are too tough a job for an amateur and the end results will not be up to a decent standard.hence why i would suggest getting a pro to do them,
The link you posted doesnt work so i cant see the ones you have done but im sure there lovely,

I am not sure about times but I know you need a type of easy off that has lye in it that may or may not still be available in your area.

The anodising can be removed just by sanding but if you are doing it this way then you have to be very carefull about not losing the shape of the wheels ,
i see loads of "polished" wheels that are basically ruined because they are covered in flat patches/dips from bad preparation ,
media blasting is not really the answer as it will just create a new problem!,

If you have a dremel (which you better, for polishing), grab these sanding cones for all the curves and such.

For the face I think hand sanding is the best option

Do you guys if media blasting is possible?

Look, I have one wheel that looks like crap now because of that anodizing that I didn't notice. I have to look from here now. I'm not scared of polishing for hours or anything. I've swapped engines in the winter and degreased all the bay by hand lol. Tell me about the easy-off method, how long do I let it on the wheel and such. I absolutely do not care if I have to sand for 10000 hours after that, I just want a nice set of wheels to put on my slammed ride.

And I see those polished all the time. Dont tell me all of these people took them to a polisher and paid the big price ton have them polished. Do paint stick to anodising? Could be a last resort...

    Really...

Well, I polished the same exact fucking wheels he is inquiring about, with the same fucking coating on them, so I guess I havent.

It's called elbow grease, sand the shit off and dont be a pussy.

Aircraft stripper doesn't work on anodizing...

    I usually aircraft strip then;

180 grit, 320 grit, 400, 600, 800, 1k, 1500, 2k. Then go back and go wetsand from 400 up. Then Mothers metal polish, or flitz. Then 3m rubbing compound, then 3m swirl remover/polishing compound, then a good cleaner wax, and a good sealer wax.

I just did them BY HAND, AT HOME. Idk why you guys are getting all in a twist about it, it's not that bad.

I concur, if it has clear anodizing outsource it. That stuff is a real pain to work with.

Take them to a polisher - a set of 928 wheels will ruin your life if you try to polish them at home ,
its not worth the time/effort to end up with a shit looking set of wheels.

Ok they are indeed anodised. I saw the stamp on the back when I got them, and I totally forgot about it until Glock mentionned it. Oven cleaner? That stuff is strong enough? Other methods to remove anodisation?
