Yes it's been done and no I don't have a picture. It looks just like having a donut tire on a decent sized wheel, like shit. Only place I've seen it done is in Japan and a couple VW Bug dudes for fun.
I was just going to say, load ratings would be where my major concern is.. Car weighs 1.5 tons, bike weighs 600 lbs...
weight isnt as much of an issue as much as the bead. Apparently its REALLY hard to get the bead to sit and seat properly with a motorcycle tire on a car wheel.
As far was the weight. Meh, i have 175's stretched on my 5500lb car inflated to like 65 psi
There is a car built in California (I use the term car loosely, as it is a motorcylce based car. three wheeler) that uses motorcycle tires. It uses touring type tires that have a high mileage arting and a fairly high load rating. remember Fat ass Harleys weigh a good 700lbs plus the two people on it (the average Harley couple I think would tip the scales at an estimated 500lbs. So that's 1200lbs on two tires. A mark1 vw weighs about 2200lbs on four tires...that's do-able.
yea, I've seen those. I was just thinking that if you had lots of camber you would get more grip with a motorcycle tire plus they are already pretty round so it might help with rubbing. I just thought that a really stretched tire looked a lot like a motorcycle tire. but a car is probably too heavy?
