Everything in one way or another has been done before. Sure their are companies that do dead reps like Rota, Varrtsoen, Linea Corsa etc. But even big companies or custom wheel companies share face designs with companies that have been at it for years.
Oh there is no doubt about that, 100% original designs pretty much stopped 40 years ago. No denying that. But like you said, there is a difference between replica's and "sharing" a design, because there will always be similarities.

The mesh wheel design has been around for a long time yes... But by your logic (not trying to be a douche, but this is how I interpret your post), all wheels produced today are copies in someway. 5 Spokes, 6 spokes, full face monoblocks, etc.

Not gonna lie but none of Rotiforms designs are really all that ground breaking. Sure they are adding some concavity to them but the basket weave style wheels have been around since the 70s and 80s.

I don't care if the spokes are slightly thinner or or flatter or the degree of the spoke is changed, they are still wheels that have been made in the past.

There are companies that are making direct reps of the BLQ, and even have the nerve to sell them with rotiform centercaps and call them "Rotiform Style BLQ Wheel".

But yes the Rotiform guys have even said themselves that the BLQ was inspired by the Gallardo wheel, yes there weren't many difference, but now the BLQ line has developed so much, you would be hard pressed to call them reps.

I've been to axis a lot of times and you can't compare rota to axis. Apart from their cast wheels Axis has their own line of wheels made by RAYS and a higher end line of 3pc wheels for GT-Rs and Lambos.

Axis does it frequently. Well, except for improving the quality, as they remain cast.

Though I doubt the Gallardo wheels were poor quality to start with.
The differences between the 1-piece Rotiform BLQ and the Gallardo wheel are minimal.

Avant Garde M140 wheels are reps of the gallardo wheels, Rotiform wheels are different in design. If you notice the spokes are thicker and the face is also different.

lol... pretty sure the last thread about this turned to shit over that exact point.

What I gathered was the Roti's are inspired from the gallarado wheels. the design is similar but not 100% the same, and although the Roti's started as cast, they have evolved into the forged line and mor recently the concave and 3pc range.

In my opinion, Rotiforms arent exactly replicas, because they took a design, and made it their own, and since it has evolved into so much more. When have you ever seen a 'Rep' company such as rota or axis do that?

For a while I thought the BLQs were reps of Gallardo wheels...but then no one said anything about them being reps ever.
