And, your idiots. If you make 40k and spending that much on wheels, your a moron. If you still rent, owe money on your vehicle, or have any credit card bills, you should not be modding cars.

    Dude, really?

NVM, I see you saw below
What do you mean dude really?

And as far as spending that much on wheels, if you're responsible with your money, spending that much on wheels can be justified easily. Also buying real wheels doesn't necessarily mean you are getting SSR, BBS, etc, you can get some killer deals on OEM wheels or pretty much anywhere if you look hard enough.

Automotive halogen bulb copy infringement would be determined based on the design and dynamics of things like the filament, etc. The things that companies like Sylvania actually have protected....whatever design/method they use to make brighter lights.

I'm pretty sure if you look deep enough and find the copyrights and patents for volk wheels you'd find that the visual design itself is protected....unlike bulb shape.

Kielan is what? 17? and he also refuses to buy a set of reps for the exact same reason.. You cant preach that due to the demand of the market these companies somehow brought it upon themselves.... If the rep companies weren't around "young" people wouldnt be buying reps to begin with! They would save and buy genuine wheels.

I could have bought xxr's a long while back. Had perfect fitment and been happy. But I decided against it, partly because Ben drilled it into me, but mostly because I knew that the quality just wouldn't be there. Sure fake wheels alot of the time "look" just as good, but how many times do you see broken rotas and oter fake wheels when people start driving hard on them. All of a sudden the product that looked the same is no longer as good because not only has the wheel broken. But your car is totaled as well all of a sudden that "cheaper" wheel just got a lot more expensive and why did you buy it because it "looked" just as good. But it's that quality that was missing that makes the difference. The reason the real wheels cost more is because of that quality.

An easy example to understand would be stanceworks has a blog. There have been many of other blogs that popped up recently that look strikingly similar but are not the same. Sure they feature low cars. But people don't like them as much because the quality of the cars just isn't there. People will in the end always come back to the higher quality good even if it costs more or takes more time to produce those goods (or in this case features). Quality wins each and

And I'm pretty sure that's what stanceworks is about. Quality. And fakes are not and never will be, quality.

Fair enough but for other companies this is not the case. None the less you know what I meant.

The issue isn't fulfilling the lower niche market.. The issue is copying a design based on popularity in order to sell wheels.

If Rota was making original designs, their name would not be brought up.

Look at Rotiform.. They are providing a solution at a lower cost while still producing their own designs.. In so doing, they have emerged as a highly competitive company on their own merit. If anything, their proven sucess should nullify any justification to running reps based around price point.

I think i understand what Karl is getting at now. But i still don't entirely agree. Its not that i think Rota isn't allowed to fill the lower market niche, i just think that they should do it with more original designs. I also don't think that the presence of fake rotas will make a significant impact on volk sales, but it will make some, enough that if i were the owner I would take action. I also think that volk should have caught on to this trend a little sooner and either released a new design with more concavity, or something along those lines.

BTW is there any kind of lawsuit or talk of one?
