a friend of mine is building this ranger on air.

some of his posts about it:
Its a 2004 standard cab 3.0L ranger. The frame and suspension are all custom hand built by Me. The only piece of the stock frame there is the engine cradle and the 12 inches of frame where the upper arms are atached. Everything else is custom built including a new steel fuel tank that uses the stock pump and sender etc...well the upper control arm is a triangulated third link to control exactly what you figured...as far as the small red arms attached via heim joints they are for the shocks, it lays the shock near horizontal and keeps them well hidden inside the frame rails along with never binding the shocks as the suspension articulates (common problem with adjustable suspension vehicles, the link lets the axle travel and articulate freely but because most people mount the shocks either on the link bars or axle which can cause the shocks to bind and break over time) it took me along time to finally come up with that setup and i can have one wheel suspended over a foot in the air and still have the other touching the ground..
