So much meat! Haha the wheels look quite awesome on the Miata; as long as the car gets you from point A to point B then you're all set.

the lack of time that comes with being a law student hinders that, but i did fabricate the side brackets for my hardtop instead of buying already done ones, cost was 10 bucks instead of 50 and only took me most of winter break (when i wasn't snowboarding or playing gtav). the larger fab projects (door cards) seem to never actually come about.Originally posted by dannydizzat View Postkeep after it. lack of money can actually help you learn to design and build your own parts....a trait that is desired amongst all.
stick with it!

I love driving the balls off of it, it's probably the second slowest car i've ever owned for straight line, but damn its fun as hell. Only other plans for it are a grip royal steering wheel (my hands turn black from the current steering wheel and I got it as a bday gift), stage 1 clutch and lightweight flywheel as the car currently has 180k on it and afaik its the og clutch and the throw-out bearing is def on its last leg. And doing the timing belt/water pump over the summer. After school I'm getting another fd rx7 to build, this will get parked at my moms house and probably never touched again, but if i feel like it in the very far future i might restore it, depends how far gone it is in another 2 years, as i do drive this through winter.Originally posted by gbaby2089 View PostJust enjoy driving it man, leave it as is.

haha, I will never own rotas. I have never been a fan of fake/replica wheel companies and these are by far the cheapest wheels I have ever purchased (can you really get cheaper then 100 bucks, idk). I like to have quality parts and its nice to run across crazy deals on them. The other wheels I have purchased in my life time have been from Racing Hart, Volk, and JLIne. I know american racing doesn't have the best brand reputation but being that these are originally from the 70's and were for 510s, I figured they would work well enough on a miata and not be crap. I also have multiple jdmego plate frames that publicize my **** for fake wheels, but haven't ran them on a car since my MR2 had JLines on it.Originally posted by axelillo_PR View PostLove the wheels, thanks for not getting rotas

I want that car! Looks awesome for what you've got in it. It's actually nice to see some big ol tires

I was originally just going to run stock width on them (185) but they came with some 205s on them (that were shot) and when i test fitted them with the old tires on i knew i had to keep some beefy tires on it. Car isn't low enough and the wheels aren't wide enough for a stretch so I went the other way. I'm also want to do some tire lettering, but I don't want to show off the fact that I'm running federal tires so I have to think of something else.Originally posted by Zacne_4 View PostGood effort, well done! I love the chunky tyres on these wheels!

thanks guys. really have just came across some great deals and have stuck to the only replace what I have to anyways. i miss the hell out of actually building a car and it will be a couple more years till i get to do it again but at least i have a fun car to drive until then.
