    That's true. Maybe i should check if i can find replacement fenders in the same colour at the scrapyard

    If your paint was peeling off and the car looked terrible, then the rat idea wouldn't be that bad (even though it still shouldn't be done). But by the looks of these pictures, your paint is in very saveable shape.

    You have to remember, MK3's come from the factory with the underside rotted out=P It isn't just you who has the issue

    I like the purpley blue a lot - reminds me of an old Jeep I had. I really liked how it looked black at night and blue when light hit it.

    I agree with some of the concern about the fender, especially in light of the rusted fuel filler door. It's a little too matchy-matchy, like a guy whose pocket square precisely matches his tie. One or the other, IMO.
