You'd laugh, it's like a clone fleet of dubs. I was contemplating buying a MK1 or 2 but there were so many I just passed. I still have hopes of a Harlequin one day.

I think everyone is getting at is that there is no originality left in the VAG world. Being slammed is the norm for dub owners. Honestly I'd walk right past 100 slammed dubs on RS's, air and plaid interiors to see one done up like an old rally car, or a concours restoration. That to me is ten times more unique than just adding air, wheels and interior trim.

I agree with you, but it's ignorant to claim the VAG scene is ALL hipsters. That just means those still in it just have to work harder to stand out and the time and effort put into a vehicle will show over others.

If someone doesn't like Volkswagens because of the physical shape of the cars, then that's one thing. If they don't like the cars because of that then it's fairly likely they were "shown-up", infuriated that a VW got more attention than their car, or are simply butt-hurt that they couldn't make a name for themselves in the crowd.

In that case, they resort to saying things like: "I **** Volkswagens" and "Vdubs are for hipsters" while they switch to another car manufacturer in hopes for becoming e-famous.
