This thread ended up being a demographic vote about how many members are from either coast. No point in voting, we could have determined the outcome using IP addresses of the active member list.

west coast hands down. the tuner scene started in the early 90s in so cal specifically in Asian communities. it then spread like wildfire with the release of Fast and Furious. But before that horrible movie came out (my car was in it, not proud). the scene started in so cal. not to mention that so cal has better driving conditions, no snow and better roads. which leads to more aggressive cars and higher quality of cars on the roads. I have a cabrio and drive top down in the middle of winter. no disrespect to any region because the scene now is awesome. However due to weather conditions you will always see hard a%% cars in so cal all times of the year. Versus east coast where you have to almost tuck your car away for a few months out of the year.Last edited by SIN3; 03-24-2012, 07:53 PM.

I do agree the JDM scene here kills it, the VW & Audi is almost non existent, BMW mostly dominates the Euro scene. But i am personally tired of the whole JDM scene out here in Southern California, most of my style cues from the VW and Audi's of the east.

the west coast has nothing on vw/audi's compared to the midwest and east.
bmw's is prob more even all around..
american muscle etc. pretty spread out but SOUTH lol
jdm: west coast.. etc.
anyone feel similarly?
And let's be honest, they can keep their vw and audis, I don't want em.

^^^ why you trying to get back to SF?
well said, vintage japanese is huge here.. big reason for that - no snow/salt!! vintage japanese cars in the midwest or east coast??? RUST BUCKETS! seriously, find a decent shape 240z out here -not that hard. midwest? impossible!!! holes rusted through..
and the west coast whoring the living f out of everything? haha, so true.. LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME

having lived and worked on cars on both coasts( VA and CA, in denver now trying to get back to SF) i have noticed that west has a STRONG vintage jap car scene. and that the west coast whores the ever living fuck out of everything they do, including all things non car related also!
the east on the other hand can have some shit (usually eurpoean) you didnt know existed that some old-money rich guy only brings out for biannual oil changes and most def. does not advertise having. i would routinely get my mind blown at work at some of the collections brought out by some old fuck who looks like some normal guy off the street but is worth a few mil. that was really the difference west shows it off(for good reason) east knows what they got and doesnt.
but for me west is the best, but i like the classics so...

I feel like California and the West Coast has a variety of different cars stanced out. East coast has more of a vw scene with some big shows like Waterfest and H20.
