Well I properly will go with 225 on the 9.5 rims on the back. I agree that I need to lower it a little more back but that is very easy on the 124 it has a selfleveling suspension on the back. On the front it matches the wheel archs pretty good so I dont think I need spacers but more stretch I agree.
And I will post some better pictures
when i was running my previous setup 8x18 + 9x18 i used the 215/35 F and 225/40 R, but the 40's are really huge for 18's, so probably you'll need to run 215/53 + 225/35, depends how much stretch do you want.
i know about that it's easy to drop the rear, but def need to lower the front, but that's what i'm thinking and what i would do.
you need more low, spacers, different tire size and you're winner!
keep working, and post more (vissible) pictures.

Hello. Here are som pics of my car!
My specs:
94 Mercedes Benz E220
Vogtland lower springs cutted on ring on the front springs.
AMG Monoblock - 8.5 on the front and 9.5 on the back.
Both with 225/40-18. Next season I will go for some more strecth on the front rims.
Plans:
Maybe 205/40 or /35 or 215/40 or /35 ? Some ideas of what i should go for?
Should have been a little lower in the back and some more strech on the front rims.
