    beautiful car man, i have wanted a 61-65 conti for many many years particularly a 65. it's nice to see decent pictures of one these cars. do you have any interior shots?

    What you say is all true, but the style was not specific to a few cars, the Mercs (not early Mercs, by any means, just old :P) were just the most popular choice in car. What I should have said was the "heyday" of lead filler. The term sled was used much more loosely back then than it is now, it pretty much just meant big, low car. Cool info though, i like your post a lot.

    Ca there be a seperate section for leadsleds? Otherwise, the rest of us will just do nothing but grovel and feel inferior.

    For the record, I am currently groveling and feeling inferior. These Continentals make all the other cars on here look so....mortal.
