What ya'll shoulda done was censor it by substituting "love" whenever someone wrote "****".
That woulda really mind fucked some people.

I don't think censoring **** was an entirely serious approach to livening the attitude of the site...Jus' sayin'
Aka, it's just funny to censor it.

Maybe I'm wrong though? I find it amusing though.

I think it's ridiculous (censoring ****). Just putting that out there. Suit yourselves (what the hell am I gonna do about it?) but it doesn't solve the attitude problem.

One of my college professors banned the word 'like' from being used verbally in his class, or written in any papers. It was genius. The word is overly misused.

exactly why it was filtered. because its a word that has a strong impact on the reciever of it. and not so much on the speaker.

You misinterpret my posts, good sir. If you're referring to my use of "greatly dislike," I was just using that to show that you don't have to use **** to show your dislike of something. **** is a word that is overused and over-exaggerated throughout much of society much like love, epic, etc.; to me it just seems foolish to censor it. If I say I **** something, I don't usually, if ever, actually **** that thing, I simply just greatly dislike it.

But I was just curious as to why it was censored and Ben answered that question but thank you for the concern.

It was just being heavily abused.. Made a group decision from a staff perspective, and I believe the majority of the community agrees with it... This wasn't a flippant decision, I assure you.

Oscar-- there is one word we have censored.. You are right, we aren't in grade school, and thus should all be able to complete a sentence when that word is missing

All the old posts now make absolutely no sense because of the filtering. Filtering some words like the "n-word" make sense but I think this site and its members are mature enough, although it may not always seem like it, to still be able to use swear words and "****." Seriously, this isn't grade school.

    "I cant speak without swearing"
I was thinking more along the lines of "Old School"

Looks like you have to copy/paste for it to work. It won't allow linking.
