Not when you have a milling machine at work that you can use after hours

Just finished episode 2. Did you actually machine 2 pieces just for that recess? Isn't that costly and time consuming?

Here's some bonus pictures of the inner rear wheel arch

Welcome to the bat cave :O

    Chassis edge repaired

    Repaired the flap

    Tacked in

Welded and ground welds with a coat of primer

I still need to add the bumpstop mount to finish this part

This was what was left of the bumpstop mount, it came off and was stuck to the axle:

I had to trim the new part as it was for a later model, but the main section is the same as for an earlier car:

To this...welds turned out pretty good too, just need to go over the bottom weld again

That's really cool, are you running a Nissan motor?

I'm going for a milder route, I want to find and original twin cam motor and box, ideally a 1750cc. Nothing against motor swaps but these cars are becoming mega money cars so might as well keep it mostly original. I love their twin cam motors too, they're beautiful, sound good and they're quick

I want to go for a weekend racer look, no bumpers, possibly a GTA look front end and I have an awesome interior from a slightly later Alfa that had Zagato seats as standard.

    Love it!
We are just wrapping up out build of a 73 gt junior, that has snowballed into something crazy. Look forward to see what you end up doing.

Here is a teaser build of the progress we have made.

Thanks, yeah I wanted to make a proper restoration. I find a lot of tv shows and so on are entertaining but when you look into their work they're just made for tv, throw a carpet over a rusty bottom and paint over a bunch of filler so it looks good.

Julia is my niece and she lives in a different country and was visiting when we were filming this episode. We'll see how old she is when the car is on the road It was fun filming that bit with all the family. My sister was the cookie thief haha

There are many in depth and unique build threads here that get passed over because they aren't a Honda, BMW, or other cliche build with stupid fitment.

Hell, threads about ratty BMW E30's that get more views than White Out's Murcielago and Viper thread.

Just know that there are some of us that are very interested in this kind of build, and you should keep it up! I think it's great your daughter is going be be raised around cool cars and a dad that knows how to fabricate.
