If Akira Kurosawa owned a 190E, it is my hope that he would have created a film like this one:

Here is a video that I shot primarily to address the w202 chassis Mercedes. HOWEVER, because w202 springs are often used on w201 (190E) and w124 (300E, 500E, etc.) chassis Mercedes, I felt that it would be worthwhile to share it here too. Within the first 2 minutes, you can get all of the information you need from the video.

Well, there is enough that the shock does not poke through the hood. But, the clearance did not come without a bit of shaving. You will see that I had to grind down the edge of the shock and the retaining nut.

And, as you can see, there is some scraping on hard bumps.

But, I have not dented the hood. So, we're still good.

And, just for fun, a picture after installing the LED foglights.

Springs are from a w124 wagon and cut to desired height.
Is there enough hood clearance with sl top mounts?

Here is where the car is now. I have since painted it semi-flat black, and installed the LED fog lights. Still STATIC!!!

This film gives a closer look at the deflector on the front.

Finally had a chance to finish filming a project I started in summer. It shows some of the evolution of the car. Hope y'all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it!

    Yes, this is static.

Assuming that you are speaking of this lip -

    DSCN4179_zpsqlfu7icu

It is actually the bottom of an old w126 bumper cover - turned upside down, and then cut out as you see you see it here.
