    Fitting a W204 diffuser on a W209 AMG bumper - part 2

    2-K industrial glue

    Started prepping the bumper.

This shit hardens in one single freaking minute. So I needed some extra hands of both my brother in law and my dad to keep shit in place and install the clamps.

(I'm so sorry for the vertical pictures )

    RESULT:

    NEXT:

    Fitting it on the car....

Again, my apologies for the dark pictures. It was late and I was in a hurry to get back to France last night. You'll get better pics soon

Then, out of my previous post:

    Fitting a W204 diffuser on a W209 AMG bumper - part 1

    YEEESSS! IT'S BACK!

A couple op weeks ago I scored a W204 C63 AMG carbonfiber diffusor

    You know. One like this.

    #GRANNYSWAG

This is what I'm aiming for:

Aaaaaaaand THIS is what I've been rolling with thus far... :

Tips on the left: those are actually real ones.
Tips on the right: disconnected and fake.
Because (like I've said in the beginning of this thread) the PO had a towbar installed...
    #RETARDALERT

    To continue the story;
My brother in law has this red C4 vette that sporadically shows up in my pictures.
That same Corvette has a set of mufflers, almost the same size of his taillights.

(No pictures of them mounted though, because he always drives without them #REDNECK)

He wants to fabricate a complete stainless system under there.
But he wants to keep the mufflers (with smaller tips) for MOT to pass dB-testing.

So then we did some choppings:

With Sander (Brolli21) I removed the Carlsson tips that were welded () onto the CLK:

    #insert-BRRRAAAPAPAPAPAPAAA-noise#

After that I went to France for work for two weeks.
Sometime during those two weeks, I received the following pictures from my brother in law....

    Like:

    And now I can hear you think;

"Why are you not fitting those Carlsson tips with the diffuser??"

    This is why:

Because it's the size that matters

    So.

This is what I basically had in mind:

A PLAN WAS MADE THAT DAY.

Then we came to the first problem. The lift was already taken....
    Blegh! BMW's....

So then I lifted it oldschool with a jack.
    Ah. Good ol' memories...

Then I did some raving and shaving...

    In a different context ofcourse....

Then comes that moment you realise that you just put the hacksaw into a genuine AMG rear bumper....

    Quite

    #BALLSY

    or

    #RETARDED

    not sure yet....

    Diffuser testfit:

I will try to permanently fit it with some 2K heavy duty industrial shit this weekend

    I'll keep you guys posted.

    Cheers!

So I had to redo everything. That sucked. Even then it started to react at some spots. But I didn't care anymore....

    Holy moly wheel gap!

Picked up the wheels this morning from the tire shop:

It seemed that I was very excited

Fronts are some whacky Sunny tires in 235/35/R19 that came with the rear wheels. They are comfy, silent and zero wobbles. But they lack serious road-feel. Will replace them at some stage.

Rears are newly ordered Kumho Ecsta LE SPORT KU39's in 265/30/R19.
Now these are tires I would reccommend to anyone, They grip like mad, are somewhat sturdy/harsh but have good road feel and are silent.

(6.000 km side note: These tires don't really have a long life span. I'm nearly halfway through them. And I didn't really beat them THAT hard...)

I got the wheels back from the repairer (had to redo a shabby performed weld and had to get them straightened on all fours).

Somehow they did not weld the small curb rash spots. So I had to sand them down by hand. That sucked. But I managed to pull it off. And the results aren't that bad if you ask me
(except one spot as you can see below)

    Dat weld....

    The ugly spot:

That same ugly spot after some sanding and soft grinding: (still ugly though)

    random shots:

    LOL. Donk.

    Inner barrels after sanding:

    Inner barrels after paint:

Then I tried something I may regret on doing.
Let's hope I don't anymore when I finalize my plan....

They still need some proper polishing. But that will come later.
    First: Tires!

I was a bit impatient. So I had to see what the current 18" looked like with the new spacers mounted.

    Cant say I'm disappointed...
Although It rubs on the outer rear arches when I go over speedbumps or when I let in more than 1 passenger

I suck at photography. Word. I invented the potato.
