NOBODY parks in the parking lot where I work :P but I'm currently at another dealer and yes he don't mind me parking with the other employess in the lot lol. We don't have demo car so all cars are different anyway.

On to a little more update, kinda.

I've put one some grenade valve cap!!! Why? because my car is the bomb.

Here a little bonus side shot

Today I gave the BMW a brake of it's daily duty and ride one of my bike to work, this beautiful 1973 g3ss. This bike is 42 years old, almost twice my age. It's got a 90cc 2 stroke engine and it start at the first kick everytime, even after a 6 months of winter storage.

    Thats it for now!

I don't know. I feel like you could roll over 1000 broken blade like this on the floor and not have a flat. It needs to come in at an angle to do any damage, laying flat on the ground it's harmless. And you can see the hole is 2x larger than the broken blade, because an exacto knife as you know the blade is at an angle so I guess it was in a lot deeper than just the tip considering bot where the blade broke and the size of the hole.. It was in my tire at a cut angle, and broken INSIDE the tire. I had to pry the sides of the hole to see the blade. If I had rolled over it, I doubt it would have penetraded deeper than the tire thread. Oh well, maybe it's just a misfortune. It's what I thought at first, but when I got the blade out I did the maths.

    Anywa, onto the update guys!!!

A little more maintenance related, as I said, for a while this will be what will be poping up along with a few other mods once in a while when I get inspiration and, more importantly, when I get more time.

So here it is, out with the old

In with the new : perforated disk ceramic pads goodies

I'm realy happy with them. They are quiet and brake well and my brake shimmy is finaly gone.

Here is some bonus pics :

    poking its nose out

Yes I work at a dealership, Im a car salesman.
    Daily dirt!

    Thats all for now folks.

I sort of wonder if you can somehow integrate scratches into the "theme"? Almost seems like an opportunity, rather than a negative.

I've had a lot of good comments on my car today Even saw a client took a picture of it here at work.

Also, the receptionist here, where I am temporarly working, came in my office as I was chatting with the other new guy and asked who the BMW in the parking lot belonged to. I said it's mine and she told me it was ugly as f*** and started to laugh and we all laugh and it was fun. That is all.

    Thanks man!

Here is an update! First, I had to fix a flat tire. But not just any flat tire.

See, whats that stuck in there?

A broken exacto blade. Someone worked real hard to pierce my tire. Asshole. I was parked in a public parking gone at a show when it happened.

Oh well, so after a few days of running the spare I fixed it, it's fine for now. Anyway I'm planning on changing for 195-45 instead of 205-55 in the front.

I've also installed the hood pin on my car, it was pretty straightfoward. Off course I took out the stock hood ketch.

One rivet didint hold on one side. It's realy super dumb how they are made you can't rivet it at the small spot you need to pry the sides a lot to get the machine to get there. Oh well it's cheapo ebay stuff so I guess its ok.

Master cheif also lost a hand. I'm not sure if this is due to someone mischief or if it simply lost it with time but I'll find some other way to tie him up there soon.

Car is daily driver. it shows! already a lot of nail marks on my paint! thats the good side of spray can paint. I can spray this area back to new in no time!!

Theres one thing not liking someones car but believe me there are better ways to tell them, infact a lot of the people in here have managed to do so. People seem to forget that just because you like something one way, it doesnt mean it's the way everyone else should do it. Imainge if someone new came onto this website and saw the way you reply to this guy, he'd probably fuck off to another website, and non of us want that.

In regards to the car, the brown doesnt make me think of rust, it just makes me think the car is brown haha. The hood, fender work and wheels I do like a lot though, keep it up.
Oh also, I like the rear bumper, but you should gliter-gold that shit up brother, just to prevent clever people from saying "dood the German flag is gold not yellow" despite the fact that it's quite obvious that your bumper is clearly the German flag.
I was indeed looking for criticism. I sure got some Glitter gold sounds like something I want on my car haha it might just be a good idea! I'll look into it! And thanks for the feedback!

But, if that's the goal, I'm not sure it reads, and your above statement is emblematic of this. If your message is not reading to your audience, maybe it's worth considering why. Every decision you make on the car says something, and it says something in concert with all the other elements. What are the elements you've chosen saying? How well does that align with your goal? Do those elements need to be edited to make them more closely conform to the goal? There's no shame in editing your work - that's part of the process of design.

I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say that the shitty rust repair is actually my favorite part of the build so far. Honestly. I mean, it ain't how I'd do it, but at least you're acknowledging the car's condition and your current skill level. It's got a little of that Millennium Falcon quality, where it's been patched together out of what's available. That said, it's one thing to patch something together out of what you have and just make it happen, but this might be something else:

This is where I start to hear the sad trombone. Pride and defensiveness in poor work, and I'm not just talking about the rust repair.

Look, I get it, I DIYed everything on my car except a spot of welding, and I did it in a dirty alleyway between a dumpster and a construction site on a grad student budget. I sooooo fucking get it.

When I first enrolled in architecture school, I had no clue how to draw. Just none at all, and that's a pretty big deal when your job is to draw. I sat down with one of my professors, and told him, "Look, dude, I don't know what I'm doing. This is going to look like shit, and that's just going to have to be okay." The professor looked at my work and looked at me, and said, "Sam, that's bullshit. What you're doing is setting your expectations low so you're not disappointed, but in doing so, you're not pushing yourself, and you're not learning. When you're just learning, the trick is to set your expectations higher than you can really achieve. Yeah, you'll always be a little disappointed with your work, but each time you'll get better, and one day you'll look back at your portfolio and be able to see the progress. Have some fucking ambition." And then he told me to throw my drawings in the trash, because they "look[ed] like shit" and were embarrassing. That's architecture school.

    Anyway, just some thoughts. /lecture

P.S.: The German flag is black, red, and gold.
I'm not sure what to say to all of this. The comparaison to architecture is great, but as I said, i didint fix it like that because I lacked the skill to do it right... But because I wanted it flawed. (AND i could never have matched the paint, getting painted was never an option). If I fix it right nobody even gonna know I fixed it. For some people thats the goal, but it's not what I wanted for this car.

I shouldnt have talked about the goal of this built, or the target, since it doesnt realy have any. I talked more about it's spirit, wich is realy all it is. It's not like I have the whole build layed down on paper and I know exactly what I'm doing, like a lot of super nice build does. Nothing is planned and I am pretty much doind whatever I want to it when I feel like it. I have an idea I think it's good, I do it. I don't think twice if it's gonna fit with the style of the car, the other mod, or stuff like that.

All you said in the first paragraph of your comments, I don't even think that far. Does people get what I do? Do I acheive to transmit whatever it is this car is? I don't know, and I don't mind. If people don't get it I can try to explain if they willing to listen, but thats about it. I'm building this for fun and for laughs, not realy thinking about what others will think obviously. Then I'm sharing and showing, looking for feedbacks and comments, good or bad. Not to see if I did it, not to see if I succeded, but as any artist, this is my work good or bad and I want to show it. I know it provokes. I want it to.

And you are perfectly right. The flag is indeed gold not yellow. I got schooled on that. We can call it gold all day long it still look yellow though. LOL

I just keep coming back to read the bull this guy gets. Its so funny.
Keep doing what you do Meeve. Its your car. I seriously don't think these people are thoroughly reading what you're writing.
Shits hit the fan lately on my thread! haha. I swear to you some people overthink a lot of stuff.
