This is the hardest I've laughed in a long time. I'm impressed by the effort you're putting in to this, and the fact that anyone here thinks you're serious only adds to it.
The alien figure on the hood absolutely kills me.
With that said, I'm gonna lock this thread. This thread is cannon fodder for the folks over at Jalopnik.

Also that the car really didn't appear to be that bad off before. And you've said that you want a car you can drive and not care about. Easy then, just stop caring about it. What you're doing is putting in the effort to make your car a rolling billboard that says LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT HOW LITTLE I CARE ABOUT MY CAR!
Which above all else, feels... fake.
Also you could have stitched it without cutting. Drill a series of holes along the bumper and just run wire through it. The rest of the car is pretty fake too anyways so who cares?
But again, whatever man, it's not my car. Don't even listen to me. So far it looks like all of the mechanical/safety stuff is pretty much in order (aside from that rear bumper) so it's not like you're like that foxbody guy who cut his control arms and then tried to tell everybody they were wrong about how he was gonna bend his shit. And then he bent his shit.
Also don,t worry about safety. I'm a safety first type of guyAnd my bumper is not going anywhere I assure you. I did read that thread with the foxbody guy you are refering too... Keeping a "weak link" in the direction LOL.

About the rear bumper, off course I know masking tape haha. I WANTED to cut it. Otherwise, I couldnt have stiched it right? It adds a little neat touch I think. Of rusted metal.
The biggest of which is that you took a car and tried to do the modern rat rod thing. In my opinion, there are few cars past the 70's or 80's that would take that well, and it's only because they were so insanely well done or thorough about it. This... this is a spraybombed turd with a rusty hood.

In my opinion, ratty cars should earn that look. I absolutely love the whole hoodride thing... find a car in a field, get it running and slap some nice wheels on it, burlap sacks over the seats and rock it until it falls apart. It's decay was natural, sitting in the sun and wind and rain. Throwing your hood in a bonfire on purpose just to make it all shitty and rusty... not so much.
Looking at this car is like looking at a garbage fire.

At least that way you're not risking part of your bumper getting ripped off on the highway by the wind or debris or something because it's shoddily attached.

It's like you looked at a Buzzfeed article about "10 craziest things people do to their cars" and turned it in to a "to-do" list.
It's like you compiled a list of all the fads in the stance world and are knocking them down, one by one.
It's a mismatched, ugly, ruined piece of crap.
But good on you for continuing to build it when people talk shit, including myself. At the end of the day it's still your car.
Two things:
1. I do really like the brown color, I think more cars could do with being brown and a properly clean E46 in brown with black wheels would look amazing and
2. When I saw that you cut the bumper fucking apart in order to paint it I about lost my shit. All I could think of was "has this motherfucker never heard of masking tape?"

I'm not out of ideas yet! I will do some more reasearch on the possibility of getting this burned out finish over the whole car. I need to try it with a torch... And I need to be able to do it without taking out all the windows trims and such because I aint doing all this work LOL.
Fenders are easy, trunk is easy, doors a little more work but I can deal with it, it's the body though... Top and rear archs. I'll think it over.

Ok guys! It's been a while and car is now in storage for winter so I figured it was time for an update!!
I havent got much time to put on it, I've not done many things since the last time.
I've change my tires, I want from 205-55-16 all around to 195-45-16. They strectch is way more adequate and the tire profile is sexier.
It also allowed me to get the coilovers back to the minimum settings as I was rubbing in the back with the bigger tires.
This is a quick shot I took when I got stuck on, well, nothing. It had rained and car is so close to the ground it just layed fram there and got stuck lol.
Quick shot of the poke and camber on the rear.
This was taken not long before the car got into storage. I havent driven it since mid september at least because of the cops. You see here where I live driving a car that stand out and running agressive stretch and some camber can get you into trouble real fast with the police (basicly modifying anything and you are the demon). . I got so much ticket and even an obligatory inspection that I just said F it and drove my winter car for the rest of the summer. My car could never pass inspection like that (supspension, tire stretch, etc.) so I had to stop driving it and take care of this problem.
So thats where I am for the winter, I didint go to inspection and now I have to wait for the ticket to contest it because the damn police officer didint have any valid reason to force me to an inspection but that didint stop him. Well in the meantime I can't drive the car because it woudl get impounded if they catch me. They are ridiculous.
Anyway, I have some plan for the winter, I already have some camber plates for the front, I also plan on getting some spacers to fill the gap of the wheels a little, I unfortunatly cannot go any lower, not because of my coils (i could still take out adjustments thingy and remove helper springs) but because the car is physicly so low that any lower would be pretty stupid. I can't even get up my driveway anymore I have to park it in the streets. I rub everywhere everytime (northern country, very bad quality roads) so this is as low as it can go static.
Also this winter I'd like to tackle a few loose end, the rear subframe bushing need replacement bad and I'd like to weld the diff to finaly slide that thing. I also need to take care of the cooling system overhaul, disa vavles, lower intake boots, oil changes and blablabla got some maintenance lined up for the winter.
I have a lot of wild Ideas left to do for this car. Stay tuned. I'm afraid progress will be slow over the winter though. It's parked at my grand's parents place and I barely have any free time on my hand between work and more work. And trying to live a little bit.
thats all for nowI can't wait to work on it!! I love my baby
