    Now you have me confused. You said your car isn't armoured. Therefore you have no protective glazing, what you have is insulated glazing. So you either buy insulated glazing or regular single glazing. The latter is cheaper and thiner, you would have to change the door cards for that. Maybe some other bits (rubber around the window?).

    Or has there been another type of glazing I am not aware of?

    Armored cars are ultra heavy, everything suffers a lot, engine, suspension etc. Plus armored glass expires. (the same as my glass)

    I recently watched a video on the armored e38s, and the glass is indeed thicker, I don't think it would be a direct swap.
