Thanks for the encouragement, I'll be sure to get some work in soon hopefully.

Haha I feel the same with mine, there's quite a lot involved with the 1.8T swap. It's doable though, and will be more than worth it in the end!

Thanks much Greg and best of luck with your build. For a moment today I felt like I bit off more than I can chew. Getting the mk4 pedals, shifter and cluster is going to add a ton of time to the swap.

    Finally some progress.

Let the wiring fun begin! I'm hoping to mod and keep the pedal box and shifter from mk4.

Tore out a ton of the interior. I've decided to just run the mk4 cluster and no dash since it will be a project. I'm thinking about removing everything and just run mk4 seats and mk1 carpet.

So much leg room without the dash!

Pinstripe and bumpers off, wheels and suspension on.

This motor swap needs to happen soon.

Thanks about the wheels, they normally are on Japanese cars. The stripe made the car too busy for me, removing it takes so much effort.

Front shocks and springs are on, I'm having a hard time removing the rear strut bolts, they will probably have to be cut out.

Removed most of the pinstripe, pulled off the side trim, pulled off bumpers, made a mess of the garage.

I've been removing the pinstripe from the car with a heatgun, what a PITA!

I purchased some volk gr-n 2pc wheels. They are 15x6.5 et32 4x100 with 205/50/15 falkens on them. These wheels have to be one of the lightest wheels I've ever purchased.

I also purchased some Bilsteins with H&R springs.
