We were then faced with the problem of the car being too high when it was on the dolly. Couple of hours and an abundance of tea later, We came up with the idea of these things to lower the frame of the dolly. Lower Everything . 055 by ryancameron01, on Flickr

Then, another problem. Lifting half a ton of Dagenham's finest steel a metre and a half off the ground TWICE was getting tiring. We had an endless chain lying around so we made detatchable mounts and this happened.

So, after that was done, between my dad and I came the decision of putting a bigger engine in it and what would need to be done to achieve that. We set about finding a better car to use the running gear on the cortina. I went to my uncle's old garage and pulled out some capri parts. Front axle and suspension, Rear axle and propshaft. (all rusty in ford fashion of course) We then decided we might aswell graft the Ford Capri chassis legs on too for ease of fitting the axles and suspension etc. So we found a rusty capri fit for the scrap and cut it in Half... The car was then taken to a friend's garage to use his sandblaster. So I sandblasted the whole thing and slapped some primer on there.

So we took it back and put all the doors, bonnet (or hood ) and boot lid (or trunk ) and lined it all up before we start cutting all the shit out and replacing a lot.
