To top it off, we also pulled the A and B pillar trim and seatbelts from a B4 wagon, and came up on some relatively rare bits:

This is what it looks like when you put a B3 Passat into a Toyota Highlander:

$200 and an In N Out dinner later...success:

At this point, the B3 was in the shop with major plans for brakes, suspension, and wheels from the ground up. In the meantime I was sourcing a full black interior swap...not an easy task, and not often completed. After setting up every junkyard alert possible and a lot of futile runs, I hit the jackpot. I came across a mint B3 Passat GL at the Windsor Pick N Pull. I abducted Roy ( @dirtywerke ) on his day off and we stripped the entire Passat revealing a factory fresh shell...nothing in it had ever been removed!!!

Heater core done. A bunch of maintenance done. Posted on a chilly SF morning with my JDM brethren:

Subaru Outback crossbar test fitment (don't do this... it is cheap and looks ok, but it sets your trays at an angle):

At this point it was December 2013 and I was relying on the B3 as my daily. The right coasters here will laugh, but my heater core was shot and I needed it fixed quick, and I didn't have time to do it myself. Here begins my relationship with James and the guys at #becausebags. You may recognize a few of the cars here:

Finding out the hard way that the US and eCode corner light brackets are different...oops:

    Questionable battery tie down:

    Messy redrill:

Tired brakes. eBrakes in the rear were also partially seized:

    The surprises keep coming!
