I'm going to keep the black dent savers on the truck. Everyone else takes them off, so i figured i'd keep them. The bumper will be all color matched, but not the same bumoer, i have a different one. I don't really like the color matched mirrors in white.

Working on the low. Trying to lock in my welding skills and ideas on relocating my gas tank before i can go any lower...I lowered in another .5" all around after i put the wheels on. Looking to net another 2.5"

so its been awhile since ive last updated this...Ive done alot of little things to the truck. I'll post some pics of some major progress. I've started a wire tuck in the engine bay but still have such a long way to go. So far i have my trailer fenders 85% complete just needs filler and some filler panels to close some gaps. Ive also started cutting back the harnesses i dont need in the engine bay. Heres a pic the day i welded the trailer fenders in. When i'm done they will "connect" to the frame so you cant see any of the wheel, just havent gotten there yet.engine bay by realmenridestandups, on Flickr

Now to some fun stuff. After about 3 sets of wheels I finally got one set mounted. The wheels are esr sr02 (i know reps but i dont care)

I dont think i want to go down in wheel size. I am going down in tire size, but it wont make much difference. 16's will literally put my frame on the ground and i dont think they fill out the wheel wells enough, I have yet to try on a good set of 17's though. Once i get the front hanger recessed into the frame and a bugger notch ill have another inch to go down before i am completely on the ground. To get 8/8 drop i Have a custom ball joint flip up front with a coil and a half removed from a belltech 3in drop spring..waiting on coilovers. The rear is a 4inch block with a set of custom 4x4 tacoma leaf springs

A quick way down is smaller wheels. I'm not dogging them (I kinda like them in an X-Runner kind of way), but it is the easiest. What did you do to get to 8/8? Monoleaf and drop springs?

Took a few decent pictures of the truck this weekend..Need to do some crossmember notches so i can go lower. I also need to recess the front leaf hanger and flip my ubolts. I'm pretty maxed out at my 8/8 drop right now. Need moar low.

Used the truck as a "truck"

It would depend on how hard of a bump you hit on how bad the damage would be, your fender/bedside would more than likely take the brunt of the impact then the rim. Just drive extra cautious on terrible roads or only have the extra spacers in when wanting to show off.
