Also, anyone have any suggestions as far as cut springs seating on these cars? The springs keep going above the top perches, which is a pain in the ass. I plan to cut another coil sooner or later, so maybe that will solve the problem to an extent. Could I use E28 top perches? Would they even be any different?

Finally figured out my alternator issues. Hung the reman (what a fucking bitch to get to that bottom tensioner) and had to rewire one of the connections to the alternator, which took a bit of time to pinpoint.
Are there any alternators that would be a direct replacement that would work better on the E12? Mine crapped out, just wondering if there are any upgrades out there!

Yeah I can't wait to get the ball rolling. Ideally it'll end up with a nice NA build on the M30, 4 speed or 5 speed swap, and some of those lovely alpina aero bits for the exterior
