  • Scrapey D

Guess it's finally time to start my build thread on here. My names Dan and I'm from the UK. I bought my car back in early Jan, an e36 318is (which has been named Scrapey D cause it was scraping speed bumps on stock springs, it will eventually be much lower though to live up to the name properly), for a silly cheap£875. After that it had to sit on my driveway for over a month til I got my first years no claims and could insure it (insurance is ridiculous for 18 years in the UK). This is gonna be a pretty slow moving thread, considering I'm currently jobless whilst I finish my final exams and everything I had saved has pretty much been spent on insurance, tax and petrol, with a few minor improvements. This is it the day i brought it:

The first thing I did was install some angel eyes. I went with the amber ones to match the amber indicators, as I quite liked the look of them.

The next thing I did was get an msport bumper, which I painted myself. I've also done small repairs to the car such as broken air vents etc, and get rid of the shitty radio that the PO had put in and replace it with a stock radio with an aux cable soldered into it. I also got offer for a leather interior which I couldn't say no too, £90 for full sport interior including door cards etc, all it needs is some parts redyed and then I'll be installing that.
Here's some pics of how it's looking now:

And with a couple of my mates e36s

If anyones wondering the wheels are style 154s from an e90, I got quite lucking having them on the car when i brought it.
Top on my list when I get some money together is new coilovers, this car needs to be sitting on the floor asap.
Hopefully after my exams in may I can start earning some more money, and take this car in a direction slightly different to the usual e36s.
Working...
