I agree. That's why I don't like the flat seats. It makes the back of the bike look like it's unfinished. And you always see the cafe single seat with the arched pan in the rear but I wanted to do something in between. I think with more shaping and the seat cover stitched correctly it will look right. If not I'll just try something else haha I plan on having this bike a long time. It will probably see numerous changes.Originally posted by Miroteknik View PostCool, I get that. Some people don't spend enough time on the seat, and the bike ends up looking like crap. They put a ton of work into the tank, but they don't realize the seat takes up just as much space or more, and if you don't style it right, its going to be an eyesore.
Thank you! I hope you do. Cafes are growing in popularity but you still don't see a lot from town to town.Originally posted by heeter_33 View PostGreat build. I've wanted to build a Cafe for awhile now and this is some good inspiration!

Take it to an upholsterer, they'll put some stitch in it, it will help the look. It isn't expensive either.

Nice I'll have to check it out!Originally posted by bimmerspotter View Postnice i have a cb650 cafe racer that i am getting all finished up with soon
I appreciate it. It's super cheap. My insurance on it is $12 a month and they dropped my car insurance $15 a month when I added the bike haha so basically free insurance to ride it and it saves me a ton of gas money all summer. Plus it's just a blast to ride. There aren't any cafés in my town so I get a lot of interesting looks and thumbs up.Originally posted by MommysLittleMonster View PostDude, awesome build! You saved a bike from a rusty, untimely death, while creating something you can have fun with on the cheap.
Looking forward to what you do next

Originally the flat seat is what I was trying to avoid. I feel like it looks unfinished. I may end up with it flat eventually but I have one more idea I want to try first.Originally posted by willshaffer View Postmake the seat completely flat
