I haven't had an electronic problem yet, but apparently they are pretty common. it just has strange quirks. When I'm turning the radio up, the volume goes down before going up, there's a few rattles, and the shorting got weird and I had to adjust the linkage. I also haven't messed with any electronics yet. I'll be switching to a three spoke steering wheel, and its pretty common for that to trip the airbag light, so that'll be interesting.

Overall, its been super reliable and a great daily driver for me, but mine is the 2.0 which is one of the more reliable engines, if you get a vr6, your experience may be completely different.

Everyone hates on MK4s, but they are very solid cars with a huge aftermarket. Mine is a 2.0 manual, and albeit slow, it is pretty fun to drive and gets good gas mileage. The only problem I've had in a year and a half *knock on wood* is a pesky oil leak coming from the plug, but I'll probably just get a new hybrid pan and plug for like $90.

(moral of the story: they aren't nearly as unreliable and expensive to repair as people make them sound. Unless you buy an auto. Don't buy an auto.)

haven't updated this thread in a while. So...long story short the probe got smashed on the front end. Wasn't worth fixing it because of how much I purchased it for and I sold the whole thing to a friend because he grenaded his mx-6 engine. Really sad to see it go but ice and cars don't mix.
Hopefully getting either a 4th gen vw jetta or 2001 saturn sc2 depends on which is better condition.

Might be trading my car tonight for a 1990 Honda Prelude Si. I know it's not the best thing to do but I've always wanted an older honda and now may be my chance. I will start a fresh build thread for it if i do end up trading I'll keep updating.

Well I got some more work done. I don't know if anyone even looks at this but I'll keep posting for my own pleasure. lol. I got the sunroof all bondo'd and it looks decent for now. I also got rid of that dumb chalkboard paint on the hood and I figured why not clear coat the raw metal I think it looks sick. Thats it for now. Oh and I also got my interior completely put in. might cut springs tomorrow and thursday cause i want it low but dont have time to wait. lol.
