Hey Rob, which shop in the Bay Area do you work at? Is full service? Tires? Maybe I'll bring my car in if I need anything.
I work for my own cousin its his shop! Its a Shell Service station.... He is certified and we do all major repairs... Including tires! You should stop by ill hook you up on what ever parts you need we can order! Text me and ill give you the info.. For now I only work Saturdays...
Thats pretty much where I'm at. I tried unbolting the control arm but the bring stayed in there curved like a banana, getting that back in freaked me out enough. Theres not much room between coils when the cars on jacks, seems pretty sketchy. I guess I'm holding you liable if anything goes wrong haha. Ill try and get my hands on a mb spring compressor so I don't kill myself, but my patience is running out.
Any klan style compressor will work do not use the hook style... Ask me how I know haha

yeah don't fuck around man! Its not worth it! We have a shop and almost knew what we were getting into! So plz don't cut without proper equipment lol! The second spring was super scary lol!
Try and find a local shop that might let you rent theirs out or something....
we did it in the sketches way possible! I cut it while in the car on the lift. The small piece shot out supper sketchy! And the other side I slowly dropped the control arm and lifted the car in the air! It still wouldn't drop out... Until it finally shot out like out of a cannon! We just put our helmets and cups on and went hard on it! (not recommended at all!)

so did you use regular clamp spring compressors on the front springs or mb spring compressor? From what Ive read the clamp ones will bend, and since the bolt is bent you cant un bolt it. I have been wanting to cut my springs until I get bags but nobody rents mb spring compressors. Not really trying to break rental compressors but if they worked for you, the w201 suspension is pretty much the same.
We took it up to the capital (Sacramento) for a wedding back in 09. After the wedding we were involved in a fight, and later that evening we crashed the car into a tree.
