If the coils aren't on by the time I come visit, we're getting them on.

Heh, I had this problem with my A6 when I was replacing the rear pads. I could not back the pistons back at all. Ended up replacing both calipers. At least it's your front and not the backs. Easier to replace and also to back in your piston you just have to press, I needed a special tool to twist and press at the same time. I was lucky to get my car in very nice condition for a 2000. No problems at all except for calipers. I hope you dont find any more nightmares if I find anymore problems with this car, I am going to import an r34 skyline because they are legal now in Canada, and I might just daily drive the A6. These cars are so fun though when they are running flawlessly!

Might possibly **** this car. Got it all back together and now my driver side front caliper is seized on me. The piston stays extended. I can compress it back in if I crack the bleeder valve, but for some reason it won't stay compressed.

    Love it, that's a journey!
Glad to hear the car turned out to be as said by seller

The soon to be based mobile! needs tint, and waiting for pics with coil's! might be an idiotic question but since you were in NY with friends, was this impulse buy influenced by alcohol?

Well, tonight was not good to me. Didn't take many pictures, and don't have much to say about it.

But if anyone can help me figure out a way to get the outer tie rod back into it's spot in the control arm that'd be awesome.

No amount of hammering/wedging the space open have worked, I'm thoroughly confused.

Great story so far you might be one of the luckier people around, buying a modded car on the spot followed by that journey and then finding out all the mods were actually done, I wish you had bought a lottery ticket the day you arrived home.
