I'm just glad to see another Hachi. Check mine out, 3tc powah baby
I'd look into the motorfix style, throw a full cage and use that to support the body, hah.
Hopefully you can find a complete car at the yard and cut the top off of that and weld it to yours. I just saw a full chassis for sale somewhere, welded seams and everything, the guy was asking something crazy like $600 for it.

In all honesty, I would leave the body alone.
It's not worth it to try and make it look clean.
Just go with the motorfix style of drift cars.

It's a hachi-roku, you can't ever go wrong.
