    Oil Pan REPAIR

The following day I ordered a OEM Pan and Gasket from Germany. Then replaced it at work within the same week.

Had to remove the hood in order to lift the motor enough to clear the sump

Out came the Oil Pan. Thankfully the oil sump was not damaged by the blow

Here's a shot from the inside of the Pan. Notice the horizontal crack across the front portion of the Pan. Then look at all the stress cracks along the bottom of the Pan

    So shiny and new!!!

There you have it, new pan installed!

Lesson learned and it wasn't a cheap one. I knew it was time to invest in a much needed skid plate. So, I went ahead an ordered a HIK Fabrication - E30 Motor Werks Skid Plate.

    Dreadful Update August 12 - 17, 2013

    An update which saddens me!

    So, about a week ago.......................................

    Yup! CRACKED Oil Pan

I started to become a little to comfortable with the air ride system and began riding lower and lower. I went from 40PSI all around to 20PSI up front and 25PSI in the rear. As a result you have this!!!

This happened about 11pm on a Monday night. On the way back from LI with a few buddies, I smashed the oil pan on a raised manhole cover about 3 miles away from home. The street was repaved and not filled high enough to clear the manhole cover.

Wasting no time we got right to it. Luckily I keep 5 qts of oil, JB weld and other necessities handy in the trunk. Knowing that sooner or later this would happen. With no jack required, I fully inflated the system. Cleaned the pan with some Brakleen, 3M pads and prepped it for JB weld. Here's my hack job, makes me proud when a hack works out better than you anticipated.

For added leak protection I laid down some bed-liner I had. Drove the car home and parked it for future repairs. The car sat in the yard for a week without a drop of oil from the pan.

Cool, if you could I would like to see them. Post 'em up here if you wouldn't mind.

Thank you, I appreciate it. Lots of people think its static mainly because I don't advertise that I'm bagged with stickers or things around those lines lol. Some people are disappointed when they find out its bagged, not that I'm surprised

    Nothing New

No updates for this post, just attended two local meets over the weekend. EuroJam out in Purchase, NY on Saturday and Slammed By the Bay in LI on Sunday.

Shot on Suny Purchase grounds, a great campus

Un-tinted factory glass never looked soo good

but the engine bay kinda blows

I recommend powerwashingdegreasing it, color matching (white) the strut tower bar, polishing the intake manifold, wrapping the exhaust manifold (black), and restoring the valve cover.

Cheap fixes and it will be most excellent dude
I agree, the engine bay most definitely blows. The only reason I have neglected it, is due to my intentions of a motor swap, wire tuck and fully shaved bay. Most likely an E46 M3 = S54 Motor. Its a far reach but its possible. Just not at the moment. However, your ideas for a cleaner bay is something I will take into consideration. Thanks for the input.
