Dude, you live in America. How the hell can you smash into something if every parking lot is the size of a small European city?? LOL

The understeer on the torino is horrendous, and being 17 something feet long i'm always worried about smacking it into something.

This is my first light rwd car. I've just never had the opportunity to do a donut on dry pavement. My only other rwd car I've driven was my 4300 lb open diff gran torino, so there's no donuts to be had in that.

Luckily just found out that my lowering springs I have are FRPP "C" springs, with linear 650 lb/in rate front and rears are progressive 200/300 springs. I'll be able to safely cut the fronts a decent amount, and cut the soft coils off the progressive rear and have some nice stiff springs for safe low. Gonna cut till I'm just barely tucking tire. I might snag these wheels from my friend and run the dreaded 4 lug to 5 lug adapters, or re-drill the hubs. I honestly can't afford a 5-lug swap right now, but 4x108 wheel selection is a little tough. Old pic of them, but it's the black wheels on the right.

Made some progress today! Fixed the holes in the convertible top with windshield urethane (just for winter) until I put a new top on in the spring. Fixed the heater controls for now until I can find a good unit, so no more ghetto wires coming outta the hood, and put a nice new negative clamp on the battery so it won't have trouble starting. She's coming along, slowly but surely. For now I'm focusing on fixing what's broke, before I really get into modding the car.

Torque arm is the way to go with a SRA car, can't wait to get one in my car. I'm sure you already know about the problems with running a panhard bar and aftermarket upper control arms.

I'm definitely trying to keep this a clean build. Nothing ghetto or redneck. In the spring I'll really get to cleaning the car up. Right now the only space I have to work on the car is either a 45 min drive away, or is freezing cold out in the driveway. In the spring I plan on lowering it, putting gears in it, cleaning up the engine bay and tucking what little wiring harness there is. I wanna take a shot at building that panhard bar this winter though.

Oh yeah, this is no light project. My plan is to stay solid rear axle, just for simplicity and strength. I'll definitely be getting control arms at some point, and might fab my own panhard bar to locate the rear end better. Having first hand experience with how well a solid rear axle can handle, I'm not worried about that being the limiting factor here. With a torque arm and panhard setup from maximum motorsports I won't have to worry about the rear end shucking around anymore. First thing i'm doing for power is gears, and it looks like i'll be getting a line lock for christmas

There's some new edge guys around here too.

My vote is keep it 4-eye. Of course the only two styles I like are 4-eye and the late LX notches.

Going to stay SRA out back? If so, look into some control arms. If you want to go IRS, you'll probably want to get a bushing kit for it. I know I've done a number on mine already and it hasn't even seen much action.

Best of luck. Looks like it's going to be a ton of work.

The pre-made subframe connectors are well worth it, because they're only a little over $100 and save a lot of time fabricating. I'm doing the same thing with my exhaust, but tucking it closer to the body, and making both pipes exit the passenger side. I'm starting on it tomorrow, and hopefully I'll get it finished.

You can be the first four-eyed slammed fox, lol.
That's sweet man, I'm excited to see all these foxes suddenly springing up, nothing like a healthy dose of inspiration to get kick me in the ass and give me some motivation. The pre-made ones would be nice, but I've got plenty of time lately, and i've got the materials already, so I'll probably break out the bandsaw, plasma cutter, and welder and fab some up. Being the first slammed 4-eye would be sweet. Back when I owned the subaru, I was one of the lowest gc imprezas on this side of the country. I was defnitely the lowest GC at wicked big meet. It was a cool feeling.
