That is one good looking truck. Sucks about the engine grenading but at least you have a couple weeks of possible snow to get it in there before driving season really opens up.

Realized that I haven't done a update in forever once again.

I've been so busy with my house, work, and just life in general. So the Sy hasn't been a priority really. I had a pretty terrible summer with it to be honest. It fought me the whole summer and finally once I got it "running" and almost on the road it all came to a Stop.

    A little back ground story...

I trailered the truck Stateside for a custom tune, My goals were to have it be conservative and safe. I didn't care for HP/ torque numbers or a fast truck because honestly with a LSx I knew it was going to be more than enough. Anyways, After two frustrating weekends due to my own under engineering, the truck left late Sunday evening tuned. I Was beyond Stoked that it was running, driving, not on jackstands ect ect.

I drove off with the truck finally not on a trailer for once! and proceeded about 30 miles back to a friends house in Upstate NY. I stopped quickly to fill the truck up for the first time with some fresh 93 octane. With a tank of fuel and a shit eating grin on my face I proceeded onto the interstate for my 30ish mile commute back to where I was going to load the Sy on the trailer and head home. (was going to trailer the truck home because I was a long way from home).

After merging onto the interstate the truck developed a strange shudder that was repetitive and progressively getting louder and louder. As I started to get over onto the shoulder the truck started pooring smoke through the cabin and out from the engine compartment. I shut the truck off and My friend Tom and I investigated.

We luckily had the truck and trailer and quickly loaded the truck on the trailer. Once back at his house we diagnosed the truck problem on the trailer and discovered that i Had indeed lost cylinders #3 and #5. The knock was now bad and the rotating assembly was F**ked. Frustrated I towed it home, Parked it in the garage and walked away.

After about 2 weekes I figured I should at least wash it and put it away for winter. Do my end of season clean that i usually perform on my cars. So this was mid/late October.

This was the last and only photo I took of it. And I haven't looked at it since about November of last year. Since then I've been figuring out what direction to go.

    New GM Crate Motor?
Rebuild my LS1, Also to the way it was or with a forged bottom end, heads, fast intake ect?
    Buy a built LSx?

After a lot of time to think about what I wanted, what suited me best and what I could afford I ended up picking this up.....

Picked up a brand new GM Crate LS2. Never been mounted, bolted up or ran. I'll save you the story but it was a deal that I couldn't pass up!

That being said I'm motivated once again, And with summer just around the corner I have a busy couple months ahead of me! So stay tuned and keep your fingers crossed that this summer will be more sucessful than the last!

    Until next time

Haha, Thanks sir! This Summer I will be 1.25-1.75" lower up front and another 2" lower out back. My frame up front is notched for additional axle clearance up, and I've got no worries about axle to frame clearance out back either.

    Perfection man, kudos to you.
My father and I had quite a bit of thought into the exhuast, It was tough to fit true dual 3" pipes through some of those places but it got done! I'll be sure to get you some sound clips and videos this season!

This is such a sick build! If I end up popping the 4.3, I will definitely be going LsX. I figure once a car sucks so much money out of you, you may as well keep it and build it how you want... (hence my bird)...
Equips are awesome! I've got a set of equips in the works for this thing actually, there one of my all time favorite rims.

Start a build thread and get that typhoon build going! Stance works needs more trucks!!
